About 50ft Queenie

My name is Sara Graye, my friends call me Queenie.

50ft Queenie is a boutique label that I started in 2008 making custom made costume lingerie for burlesque dancers, pin up models and showgirls.

As a teenager I performed as a bass player for 90’s Sydney all girl heavy rock group NITOCRIS. Before, and during that period, I was a dancer so designing and styling costumes to wear on stage played a big role in my life. I learnt how to sew from a very young age and the rest is history! It is so inspiring to be able to combine my life as a rock musician with my passion for design.

Fans of the 90’s rock goddess/songstress, PJ Harvey will know I named my label after her song ‘50ft Queenie’. Polly Jean, as an artist, is a real inspiration to me. She effortlessly strikes that balance between strength and femininity and I try and emulate that in my designs. I love combining classic retro fashion with cutting edge materials and embellishments.

50ft Queenie bridges the gap between ‘Show Stopping Lingerie’ and ‘Edgy Fashion’.

I am now proud to introduce a brand new swimwear collection, Sex on the Sand to the 50ft Queenie range. I am also stocking a delicious range of Leg Avenue Hosiery to compliment my lingerie and show girl attire.

50ft Queenie is proudly Australian made. Some of which is still made by yours truly!
